Adventure Trek in the Peak District

23rd - 25th April 2024

Join me for a 3 day course, riding through the beautiful Peak District. See the rugged Dark Peak and the beautiful White Peak whilst learning more about teaching your horse to be the perfect partner in this environment.  Not for the faint hearted and for confident riders only.

This ride requires you and your horse to be fit.

The Peak Adventure Trek includes tuition and guidance on the trail by Rachael, 3 nights accommodation and breakfast, 2 evening meals (pub lunch on the 3rd night not included), a packed lunch each day. Horse board for 3 nights.

"One of the best I've ever done. Challenging terrain for both horses and riders, excellent instruction and guidance, rides ranged from rugged, stoney up/downhill through to long, grassy gallops and woodland, views were spectacular." - Annette Ansell, May 2017

Day 1

After arriving the afternoon before, breakfast together and ride out from Rush up Hall on a circular route along the Pennine way and Pennine Bridleway. We have a

picnic on route at midday and then return to the B&B for a delicious home cooked meal.

This first day is a long, hard trek through the rugged, wild and stunningly beautiful Dark Peak. This day is not a fast ride but much more of a trek, picking your way over difficult terrain whilst travelling through the most amazing scenery with fantastic views around every corner. This ride requires both you and your horse to keep to your own responsibilities and hugely improves your partnership as you tackle this trail together.

"Arrived home after three amazing days riding, many miles done."

"I would describe the Derbyshire adventure as a fantastic learning experience in beautiful scenery. It developed my leadership skills and improved my relationship with my horse. We became a better partnership. It was challenging at times but I had a huge sense of achievement especially after the first day." - Kaye Weaver

Day 2

Cooked breakfast at Rushup Hall and then on to a circular route around the Chatsworth and Haddon Park Estates.

The second day is the polar opposite to the first and takes you through the beautiful and picturesque Parkland of the Chatsworth and Haddon Hall estates. The ride consists of pretty woodland trails, open parkland, old railway lines and open rolling countryside. There will be lots of trotting and cantering with my favourite part being the approx 1km long uphill canter across the parkland in front of Chatsworth house. It's exhilarating!

We end the day going to our new B&B and head out to dinner at the local pub. The pudding list there is the best I've seen and you'll definitely have earned it.

"Thank you for an amazing three days riding last week. I absolutely loved it. One of the best things I've ever done and I thoroughly enjoyed every second."

"Very impressed with the whole experience and the ability & knowledge Rachael has of her students and horses to be able to create a partnership for me and a new horse and support us through the experience safely. I may have been terrified at the beginning of the week, but by the end of the week I'd reached a whole new level of competence."

- Anna Furber, Adventure Trek, May 2017

Day 3

Breakfast at the B&B and then ride out from there for our last day on the trail.

This third day is different again, this time taking you through the more wild areas of the white peak. Follow the High Peak trail across open countryside and through tunnels and then we go off into one of the hidden valleys, with more amazing views and lots of trotting and seemingly endless long grassy canters this is a great way to finish our trek.
