Phoenix was the first horse I owned and was my patient partner as we learned and progressed through the parelli levels together.

Once extremely fearful and spooky he amazed me on a regular basis with how brave he became and what he was willing to try for me. We ended up having a go at most things including hacking/ trekking, jumping, x-country, dressage and even pulling me on a sledge and snowboard. Phoenix is now happily retired and doing a great job creating confidence in my younger horses in the herd. Phoenix and I did many performances and demonstrations together including at the NEC Parelli celebrations, the British Open, HOYS, Royal Windsor, the Royal show and Your horse live.

Jasper was very kindly given to me as a project horse back in 2007.

Jasper is a true gentle giant with an amazing soft, yet strong energy. He is the leader of my herd and having seen him with various horses coming and going from the herd, he is always the lead horse, yet is very passive and soft in the way he leads. He'll happily share his space and his food and any horses living with him get noticably calmer and more at ease with each other. He is now semi retired and just comes out to play here and there helping students learn. He's the most lovely horse with children and tries his hardest to please them. When I got him he was very worried, particularly if he didn't understand what was being asked of him or if he felt he had done something wrong and he was quite a challenge for me in the early days. He has taught me huge lessons in really feeling for the horse and always putting the relationship first. Jasper is definitely a horse that doesn't care how much you know, until he knows how much you care. Jasper and I have done a bit of everything together but his real love was hacking and trekking. He is fantastic out on the trail and has looked after me and the students I was with many a time.
